Pitti Immagine is an annual event, and is made up of men’s, women’s and children’s exhibitions. It has been running since 1972, and the 2013 edition of the Pitti Uomo exhibition intends to ‘redraw the map’ of contemporary men’s fashion, with this year promised to be more exciting than ever before. There are more than 1000 brands on show at Pitti Uomo, many of them presenting the most cutting edge looks available today. This is a truly international showcase of men’s fashion, with not only Italian designers taking part, but also a host of other foreign markets, such as Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and Spain. In fact, over 40% of the designers are international, and come from over 30 countries!

The exhibition is helpfully organised into 11 sections, with the Pitti Uomo section being the heart of the fair; located in the Main Pavilion, it embodies the fair’s identity and showcases the on-going development in menswear design. The successful Futuro Maschile section contains collections which have a real modern twist, and are designed for today’s stylish and eclectic gentleman, while the Pop Up Stores section is where you can find a host of stylish accessories, including fragrances, bags and shoes. My Factory is the place to go to see young creative talent showing off their capsule collections of lively urban wear and sportswear, and if a slightly more avant garde style is more your thing, then L’altro Uomo section is definitely for you!
