A Florentine sunset walk designed to get your bearings while enjoying a taste of the city away from the hustle and bustle of the day. Just when the golden hour enhances the city’s colors, Florence will truly... come to light!
Our tour starts in Piazza Repubblica, the square where Florence originated as a Roman colony. We will then step to the Cathedral, just a few feet away. We will take in the beauty of the Duomo at sundown: as the multicolored marble slabs shine like precious stones, you will admire the beauty of the amazing Dome and the famous Baptistery doors, so stunning that Michelangelo himself called them the Gates of Paradise.
Our experience wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the political heart of the city, Piazza della Signoria, with the many marble statues shining at dusk. Then, crossing the courtyard of the Uffizi Gallery, you will suddenly find yourself on the banks of the River Arno, where the most spectacular view of Ponte Vecchio will be revealed to you. This is one of the moments you simply must take a picture!
Our walk then will lead us to the other side of the river, across the Ponte Vecchio. This bridge is the oldest surviving example of Medieval architecture and the only one that wasn't wiped out during the war. Walking here at dusk is an unforgettable experience, with gold jewelry sparkling everywhere on the bridge's store windows.
Across the river, we will find ourselves in the heart of the Oltrarno district, the artisans’ quarter, where our tour ends. We will leave you in one of the most characteristic little squares of the city, near the Pitti Palace, the last royal residence of the Medici family. Here you may experience a Florentine “aperitivo,” a light drink before dinner (not included in the tour price).
