This half day bike tour is about 9 miles round trip and, once out of Florence, the riding is done on paved back roads with very little traffic. Our meeting point is on the threshold of the Chianti countryside and this will allow us avoiding a ride through the crowds of tourists in the center of Florence. The bike ride starts with 2 km uphill, but we will make frequent stops to admire the view on the way to the top of the hill. Once at the top, we will ride our bikes through the local area of Florentine nobility and among their villas. Then, we will arrive at a famous Renaissance mansion hidden in the hills behind Florence. We will visit the villa and you will learn how wine is made while tasting some olive oil with a light Tuscan meal including a range of local products. In our return back to Florence we will take you to the outstanding Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the best panoramas over Florence, where we will stop for some pictures. Our ride then will continue downhill unto Florence, with a stop to one of the best gelaterias to complete the perfect half-day trip! The tour includes a 24-speed bicycle, a helmet, a water bottle, a professional tour guide, a guided winery tour with light Tuscan lunch.
