What is a "Booking Fee"? Since Covid-19, the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia National Gallery in Florence have changed their booking system. In order to secure a timed entry for our clients, we must pay for the timed entry (a sort of "Skip-the-Line Pass") in advance. The booking fee we ask our clients to pay through a secure payment link from Walks Inside Florence will cover the cost of the timed entry. When our clients get to the museum, their guide will take them to the ticket office to pay for the ticket without standing in line. What if there are no available timed entry slots for my museum tour? Sometimes, the Uffizi or the Accademia timed entry slots are totally sold out for the day. This means that we need to get our clients the tickets from the official Florence ticket offices. In order to do so, we must ask our clients to settle the ticket fee in advance through a secure direct payment link from Walks Inside Florence. Once the client has settled the payment, we will get the tickets and issue the confirmation voucher. Can I walk to the different places of interest in the city? Florence is waiting to be explored on foot. The city center is flat, but the streets are paved with stones, so our suggestion is: wear comfortable shoes and walk everywhere to explore the culture and the daily life of the city. Points of interest (museums, churches, palaces) are all at a walking distance one from another. If you need to get across the city in a hurry, taxi stands are located in most of the squares. Where can I park my car if I come from outside the city? The closest parking place to our meeting point at Palazzo Medici-Riccardi is Mercato Centrale Parking. From the parking lot you can reach the Duomo on foot in 15 minutes. Arriving with luggage, where can I store my bags? In the main train station, Santa Maria Novella, there is a very convenient storage office. It’s open every day from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM and rates are quite reasonable. The office is located along track 16, right across from the pharmacy. When do restaurants open? Restaurants will be open for lunch from 12.00/12.30 AM to 2.00/2.30 PM. Dinner will be between 7.30 PM to 10.00 PM. Most restaurants have a day off (usually Sunday or Monday). Always ask us for the best recommendations! What is appropriate in regard to tipping? Tips are not mandatory, but a sign of appreciation. If the service was good, we suggest 10% of your bill. Where can I do my shopping? Florence is renowned for its elegant boutiques and handicraft works. Designers shops are concentrated in Via Tornabuoni, Via della Vigna Nuova and Via Strozzi. Artisans shops can be found in the Oltrarno district: Borgo San Frediano, Santo Spirito, Borgo San Iacopo. Santa Croce district offers you the widest selection of leather goods: jackets, bags, gloves, purses. Where can I go for a day trip out of Florence We suggest Pisa, Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano as well as vineyards in Chianti, Boglheri and Volterra. Ask us for a private tour, we provide the best service in Tuscany! Can I combine the tours? Combination of tours is possible, but it requires a walk of at least 4 hours. We suggest combining the Accademia (sculpture gallery) with the Uffizi or Pitti Palace (paintings museums). Take a look at our Uffizi and Accademia Tour. Do I need to make reservations for the museums? You don't have to make reservations for the museums. We will take care of everything.
