Francesco Calanca

Licensed tour guide with a PhD in Arts and Humanities. 

Francesco is a passionate lover of art, history, food and fashion! He has an MA in Literature and Modern Languages and a PhD in Arts and Humanities from the University of Florence. He studied in the U.S. (Berkeley University) and the U.K (London Royal Holloway College) where he got a postgraduate scholarship and worked on National TV (Channel Four). Part-time English teacher and researcher, he has been a tour guide in Florence for several years, publishing articles on Anglo-American Grand Tourists in Florence and Tuscany. He's fond of off-the-beaten track tours and he specializes in LGBTQ+ tours, feminist history and new perspectives on art and culture. His motto is "If you can dream it, you can do it".
