If you want to discover the ingredients that make our food one of the best in the world, and at the same time experience the atmosphere of a Florentine apartment, the cooking class in our chef's home will be unforgettable.
Since 1992 Silvia, our chef, has been teaching Italian cooking both in Florence and abroad and she counts, among others, the chefs of Marriott International and Aldiana Resorts as her clients. Recently she qualified as certified olive oil tester.
The day usually starts with a visit to S. Lorenzo local food market, where Silvia will teach you how to select the fresh and good ingredients for your recipes; you will do some food shopping and some food tasting.
Then Silvia will drive you home and start a hands-on class of approx. 3 hours, preparing a complete meal:
one pasta dish (can be pasta or gnocchi or risotto), one meat dish (or fish on request) with side dish and a dessert.
She will introduce you to the secrets of the Italian/Tuscan cooking, you will create your own dishes and improve your culinary skills.
When ready, all the guests will sit at the table in the living room and eat what they have prepared.
Matching wines will be served.
Included:
the market visit, all ingredients, the transfer to Silvia's apartment, the class, the wines , the printed recipes and the certificate of attendance.
Not included: the transfer back to the guests' hotel .
Payment conditions:
a deposit of 30% of the amount due should be paid latest one month prior to the program. The deposit will be applied as 30% fee to the class.
The balance should be sent latest 20 days prior to the class.
In case of booking within 29 days prior to the class, the full amount should be paid.
• up to 29 days prior to the class: complete refund of the 30% deposit
• 28 to 7 days prior to the class: no refund of the deposit
• 7 days to the class day: 100% of total cost is charged
If the operator cancels, total refund of the 30% deposit or total cost, if cancellation happens in the last 7 days.
Even if the apartment where the classes take place is covered by insurance we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance.

There is always an abundance of food, so it is generally never a problem to avoid the ingredients you don't like.
DURATION: 1 ½ HOURS
Included:
three ‘professional’ tastings of three different varieties of Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (served with crackers, apple and sparkling water to ‘clean’ your mouth between one testing and the next) and three ‘soft’ tastings of Extra Virgin Olive oil on bruschetta with fresh vegetables.
Plus if you feel adventurous you may also like to learn more and taste an ‘imperfect’ extra virgin olive oil.
